Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, conducting assessments, prioritizing data collection, and implementing treatments as ordered by physicians. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to work effectively in a team setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
Requirements
  • BLS and NIH certifications required.
  • 1 year of experience in acute care.

Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
