Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting daily field inspections and documenting any discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assessing plans, specifications, and submissions to ensure compliance with inspection standards.
  • Reviewing work sites and recommending enhancements to improve operational procedures.
  • Engaging with project managers, contractors, and team members as necessary.
  • Participating in pre-construction and ongoing project meetings as required.
  • Maintaining thorough records of all documentation related to inspections.
  • Monitoring contractor progress and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Collaborating with clients and project teams to clarify project details and specifications.
  • Understanding and applying relevant inspection codes and testing requirements.
  • Attending project close-out meetings as needed.
  • Responding to client and management needs, along with any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspection or management of infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for site inspections.
  • Previous experience with relevant agencies is preferred.

Certifications

  • NICET II Certification in transportation/highway construction is mandatory.
  • Current Water Main Inspection Certificate is preferred for water main construction projects.
  • Additional certifications such as ACI, SAT, TCP, NACE, AWS, and OSHA 10 hours are advantageous.
