Job Overview:
The Advanced Sleep Technologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive sleep studies and analyses, along with necessary interventions, under the guidance of a Lead Sleep Technologist and the clinical director or their representative. A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) may oversee the work of a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collects and Evaluates Patient Data: Prepares and calibrates testing equipment to ensure proper functionality and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Conducts Sleep Studies: Adheres to established protocols to guarantee the accurate collection of data.
  • Scores Sleep Records: Analyzes and scores sleep and wake stages according to accepted professional standards.
  • Ensures Compliance: Follows all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning safety and infection control.
  • Maintains Equipment: Conducts routine maintenance and care of equipment, along with inventory assessments.
  • Participates in Education Programs: Engages in mandatory educational programs, including but not limited to, infection control and safety training.
  • Maintains Confidentiality: Safeguards patient and program information.
  • Addresses Participant Inquiries: Responds to questions from study participants regarding procedures with accurate information.
Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting. The individual is accountable for fulfilling all job-specific responsibilities and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - (Required), Graduate from Specialty Training Program - (Preferred)

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting - (Required)

Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body, Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
