We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Documentation Manager to join our team at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. This is a unique opportunity to lead the content strategy and documentation for Amazon's internal software engineering community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy across specific developer tools and end-to-end development workflows.
  • Lead the direction for documentation authoring tools used by writers and software development teams.
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from customers to improve documentation.
  • Influence product direction of tools to provide an ideal development experience.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in technical writing, with a focus on developer or IT operations audiences.
  • 5+ years' experience writing code or automation scripts as part of published documentation.
  • Strong ability to work across teams and groups to accomplish objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with web services, object-oriented programming languages, and automation scripting frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of command-line tools and their applications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $215,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, offering a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits in addition to a competitive salary and equity package.
