Chief Medical Officer Position in South Carolina

AmeriHealth Caritas is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to lead our market-based clinical and population health strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall market clinical operations, supporting clinical leadership, and enabling execution of quality initiatives.
Salary & BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experience. Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly experienced medical professional with strong leadership skills to join our team as a Chief Medical Officer. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of practice experience in their area of specialty and 5+ years of progressive medical leadership and management experience.
- Develop strategic initiatives to guide outcomes and collaborate with providers to utilize data analysis.
- Lead and oversee segment leaders and strategic direction of clinical, quality, and population health programs across care management, utilization management, quality, and value-based care.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and recommendations for modifications to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess:
- Candidates must reside in SC and be present in the Charleston office at least 2 days a week.
- MD or DO license and board certification in area of specialty.
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in South Carolina and any other state where they work.
- Experience working with multiple product lines of business, i.e. Medicaid, Medicare, ACA/Exchange.
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies (IHI, Lean, Six Sigma), population health management approaches, and medical trend and economics.
