Job Overview

KIPP Capital Region is a leading educational institution dedicated to providing high-quality education to students in grades K-12. We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as an Apprentice Teacher.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies and curriculum.
  • Support student learning through tutoring, grading, and individual or small group instruction.
  • Observe and assist Lead Teachers in improving instructional techniques and classroom management.
  • Participate in curriculum development and planning, ensuring alignment with standards and student needs.
  • Provide administrative support to Lead Teachers, including grading, record-keeping, and other tasks as needed.
Commitment to School Culture
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Contribute to the development of a collaborative and inclusive school culture.
  • Participate in staff meetings and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies.
Family Engagement
  • Establish and maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other events as needed.
  • Support student engagement and motivation through positive relationships and activities.
Growth and Development
  • Pursue professional growth and development opportunities, including training and coaching.
  • Seek feedback and constructive criticism from colleagues and supervisors.
  • Contribute to the development of a growth mindset culture within the school.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Experience in education, preferably in a charter or public school setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
