We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Early Learning Lead Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Key Responsibilities- Instructional Leadership: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Illinois Early Learning Standards, promoting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a well-organized, clean, and safe classroom environment that encourages children's independence and self-selection of activities.
- Child Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Use observational and child data to plan developmentally appropriate and engaging early learning experiences, and document observations and maintain child portfolios to aid in assessments.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with parents and families to develop effective partnerships, encourage parent involvement, and communicate regularly with the classroom team.
- Program Development and Quality Improvement: Participate in the development of plans for ongoing growth and improved quality of services to children and families, and contribute to the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process.
- Education and Credentials: Meet DCFS licensing and program-related accreditation/credentialing requirements; ECE Credential Level 1 or higher preferred.
- Experience: Three years of experience teaching or equivalent in a preschool classroom strongly preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of how to design and implement the Creative Curriculum and other high-quality curriculum approaches preferred.
- Certifications and Training: Pre-employment medical screening and TB test per program requirements; Food Handlers Training required to be achieved or maintained once in role.

- Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs.

- Completing all child abuse prevention training as required.
