The role of the Industrial Engineer is crucial within Linear Motion LLC, as it involves leveraging engineering expertise and business insight to collaborate with various cross-functional teams. This includes production operations, engineering, quality assurance, supplier management, materials management, and program management, all aimed at achieving the company's objectives and enhancing operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize fundamental industrial engineering principles to optimize products, processes, and services in alignment with program specifications.
- Assist in the design of plant layouts, capacity planning, and the sequencing of operations and workflows.
- Engage in the assessment of new methodologies and technological advancements for integration into production and service operations.
- Contribute to the design, maintenance, and optimization of the Umbra Production System by aligning design, supply chain, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
- Conduct basic workflow analysis and design.
- Create simple models, databases, and spreadsheets for data analysis, providing summarized insights and metrics to leadership.
- Support research and development efforts to enhance scheduling performance, reduce costs, and improve quality in large-scale systems integration.
- Assist in the implementation of facility modifications and revisions to operational methods.
- Document assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.
- Help prepare operational plans, including work order analysis, budgeting, forecasts, and production adjustments to meet technical objectives.
- Facilitate execution planning through project management, planning, scheduling, and shop load practices.
- Provide support for production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and recovery planning.
- Ensure compliance with established industry quality, safety, and design standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate for the Industrial Engineer position will demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels within a manufacturing context. The candidate should possess strong data analysis and mining skills, along with advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly within a Dynamics 365 or similar environment.
Due to regulatory requirements, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria.
Education and ExperienceTypically, candidates will have an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. An ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and AbilitiesSuccessful candidates will be able to interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, technical drawings, and government regulations. Proficiency in computer usage and relevant software is essential.
