Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Travel Nurse RN Labor and Delivery Specialist to join our team. As a Travel Nurse RN Labor and Delivery Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a Labor and Delivery setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in the Labor and Delivery department.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
  • Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures and make referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Labor and Delivery setting.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN License issued by the California State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association).
