Position Summary:
The Quality Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the inspection processes, calibration programs, and analysis of returned products. We seek a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can work autonomously while also contributing to team objectives. This role will report directly to the Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections with minimal oversight to ensure compliance with specifications, using standard mechanical and electrical tools, functional gauges, and testing fixtures.
- Execute thorough first article inspections as necessary.
- Coordinate timely calibration of gauges to prevent overdue calibrations.
- Oversee the Calibration system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Manage related documentation, including data sheets, rework records, refurbishing documents, and nonconforming material reports.
- Deliver written reports on inspection outcomes.
- Engage in final inspections at supplier locations when required.
- Organize raw materials, components, assemblies, and instruments to guarantee proper identification and traceability.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred 2+ years of hands-on inspection experience.
- Familiarity with fundamental hand inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and functional gauging, as well as manual and portable CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation.
- Ability to perform Gauge R&R or Measurement Error Studies.
- Proficient in utilizing the Inspection and MRB Event Solution, including SharePoint.
- Basic proficiency in Excel and Word is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab Statistical Analysis software (or equivalent).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical writing and editing skills are highly desirable.
