Structural Steel Design Drafter

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Steel Design Drafter to join our team at Randstad USA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed plans, drawings, and documents for the fabrication and erection of steel structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare shop drawings for projects using Tekla Structures and Tekla Powerfab
- Check all necessary system input for finalization of fabrication drawings, shop details, and Bill of Material
- Utilize Tekla 3D software in the preparation of structural steel projects working in accordance with AISC code
- Help produce accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) as they pertain to design
- Meet deadlines while maintaining a high accuracy and quality
- Communicate clearly and professionally with leadership, understanding customer needs, project timelines, and ongoing projects
Requirements
- Associates in Mechanical Engineering along with 1-2 years related design experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of creation of 3D CAD modeling, preferably using Tekla Structures and Tekla Powerfab (ERP)
- Must possess high attention to detail and basic math to include GD&T
- Construction industry and knowledge of structural steel is highly preferred
- Demonstrated professionalism with a strong engineering curiosity and desire to develop and grow personally and professionally
