Position Overview:

As a Recycling Processor, you will be responsible for the safe collection and segregation of recyclable materials, ensuring they are prepared for transport in an efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently separate and categorize metals and other materials into burnable and non-burnable categories.

• Inspect materials to eliminate contamination and prepare them for shipping by utilizing equipment such as magnetic separators for aluminum cans, compactors for newsprint, and loaders for mulching.

• Manage the loading and unloading processes of transport vehicles.

• Conduct routine cleaning of dumpsters, trucks, and compactors on a weekly basis.

• Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and directives from supervisors.

• Operate and maintain machinery involved in the baling of materials, as required.

• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment, including grounds upkeep such as sweeping, cleaning, mowing, and disposing of debris.

• Participate in safety meetings and branch discussions.

• Supervise site operations in the absence of a supervisor.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not mandatory.

• Prior experience with recycling equipment is advantageous.

• Proficient in operating machinery such as bobcats, forklifts, trucks, wheel loaders, magnetic separators, balers, and compactors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others.

• Capability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

• Competence in executing all tasks and operating necessary equipment for the role.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Ability to manually lift and move items weighing up to 60 pounds.

• Must be capable of standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and climbing.

• Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

• Regular exposure to loud noises, humidity, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.

• Occasional work in high and precarious places.

• The work environment is typically loud.
