About the Opportunity

West Virginia University Health Science Center is committed to advancing research in orthopaedics and orthopaedic surgery. We are currently seeking a Research Assistant Professor to join our department and contribute to the development of new treatments for prosthetic joint infections.

This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous paid time off and health insurance options.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing bench research, managing data, preparing manuscripts, and presenting research findings at conferences and seminars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bench research on prosthetic joint infection models
  • Data management and laboratory operations
  • Manuscript preparation and presentation of research findings
  • Mentoring students and recruiting new talent
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree (MD, PhD or MD/PhD)
  • Postdoctoral research experience preferred
  • Microbiology experience and/or background preferred
