Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will work under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Center Licensed Physician(s) to determine the acceptability of all first-time donors and return applicant donors. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing normal donor laboratory tests and referring abnormal tests to the Physician for review.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and determine the suitability of donors based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and FDA guidance and regulations.
- Work closely with the Medical Director or Licensed Center Physician(s) to make decisions that impact donor suitability.
- Provide medical oversight in screening, phlebotomy, and plasma processing areas.
- Qualifications:
- Current LPN license in the state the Donor Center operates.
- Must be able to provide proof of graduation from a recognized educational program for healthcare workers that includes clinical training.
- Must have basic computer skills to include an understanding of word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strict adherence to current good manufacturing procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interpret medical information to formulate appropriate actions.
- Available to work extended shifts and weekends.
- Occupational Exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Ability to lift, pull, or tug up to 40lbs.
- Work requires extended periods of standing and bending.
- Ability to train others required.
- CPR certified or the ability to obtain certification.
