We are seeking a skilled and courteous Dining Service Associate to join our team at Friendship Village. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our residents and their guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Table Setting and Maintenance: Set tables and maintain work stations in a clean and organized manner.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Take orders, provide service, and deliver requested items in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Customer Service: Answer questions about menu items, prepare therapeutic desserts and salads, and provide exceptional customer service to our residents and their guests.
  • Logistics and Transportation: Transport hot and cold foods to and from the Village Care Center, as needed.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers to provide a seamless dining experience.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English, perform simple arithmetic, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Experience: Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred, but not required. Will train on-the-job.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Fundamental understanding of hospitality, customer service, table service techniques, personal hygiene, and appearance.
