Job Overview

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a seasoned Senior Architect to lead the design and management of solutions that support the needs of our client base. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design and project management, with experience in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver design intent effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage architectural design solutions in accordance with Hazen design standards
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and construction estimating
  • Collaborate with external consultants to provide solutions that meet client needs
  • Participate in document production to ensure integrated building components
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct a design team
  • Interface with clients and consultants to ensure clear understanding of project goals and expectations

Requirements:

  • Professional architectural degree from a U.S. accredited university
  • 10+ years of broad-based architectural experience, including building infrastructure design
  • NYS license and NCARB certificate or ability to obtain
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and quality responsibility
  • Proficiency in Architectural design and quality responsibility
  • Knowledge of building systems and their coordination/integration
  • Knowledge and working experience with building codes, environmental regulations, and sustainability concepts
  • Proficient in Revit BIM software, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and Bluebeam
