As a Flight Nurse with Guardian Flight, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in high-pressure environments. Your responsibilities will encompass:
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing and submitting electronic patient care records for each flight in a timely manner, alongside conducting daily base checks, including narcotic inventory.
- Providing advanced life support care from the moment of initial contact until the patient is handed over to the receiving medical facility, ensuring thorough documentation of patient care.
- Maintaining clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing training and practical experiences.
- Documenting all required licenses, certifications, continuing education, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
- Utilizing and routinely maintaining all emergency medical equipment and supplies.
- Fostering positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the community.
- Acting as a key member of the medical flight team.
- Participating in pre-mission briefings and debriefings, completing necessary documentation.
- Assisting with pre-mission checklists and providing pilot support as needed.
- Adhering to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all personnel and patients prior to takeoff.
- Conducting safety briefings for the aircraft as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in emergency or critical care settings is required.
- Previous flight experience is preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the relevant states is mandatory.
- EMT Certification as required by state regulations.
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required prior to flight status, with trauma certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Advanced certifications (CEN, CCRN, CFRN) are preferred and must be obtained within twelve months of hire.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and ITLS/PHTLS are preferred.
- Willingness to shave facial hair if necessary to ensure a proper fit for an N95 mask.
- Ability to perform a full range of patient care activities requiring gross and fine motor skills.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed.
