Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Cost Manager to act as the day-to-day interface and drive large-scale technical commercial developments to achieve an excellent outcome.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist with feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
  • Perform all aspects of procurement, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing bid lists, bid analysis, producing bid reports, and compiling contractual documents.
  • Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring major changes to the line manager.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to the client.
  • Provide input into value engineering, negotiate, and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain liaison with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team, ensuring the delivery of all accountabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager, utilizing the marketing database.
  • Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience working on large-scale commercial real estate or relatable large-scale construction projects.
  • Good technical experience in all cost management areas: pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.
Education/Experience:
  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
  • Experience in commercial and high-tech real estate construction.
  • Good understanding of all electrical aspects as they relate to construction projects.
  • Construction experience with electrical systems a plus.
