Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Medical Director, the Nuclear Medicine Tech PRN will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans. This role involves selecting and operating equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, and assisting in equipment calibration and radioisotope assay operation.
Responsibilities- Selects and operates equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, using film identification method correctly and consistently.
- Performs a variety of clerical tasks to include: inputting/editing exams, and completion of requisition prior to sending study to radiologist.
- Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations in order to obtain desired in-vivo imaging results according to the physician specifications.
- Assists physicians in performance or examinations by preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
- Demonstrates Customer Service/Service Plus principles and behaviors appropriately.
- Texas Medical Board-MRT license required.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- ARRT or NMCT required.
- At least one year of full-time experience in clinical Nuclear Medicine imaging including didactic experience preferred.
