About the Role

  • Provide initial nutrition assessment of patient condition.
  • Provide ongoing reassessment and follow-up care.
  • Provide nutrition education services for patients and staff.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree from any program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that leads to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
  • Basic knowledge of subspecialty areas, including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc.
  • Must obtain approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits per calendar year.
  • Keep current with new findings and research.

Experience

Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but not required.

Licensure/Certification

You will need to register with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and obtain an Oklahoma State Dietitian license within the first 6 months of employment.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

This role requires:

  • The ability to use decision-making skills to prioritize patient care.
  • The foresight to recognize unsafe work conditions and practices.
  • The ability to safely use chemicals and equipment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • A knowledge base for using different formulas when assessing patients' nutritional needs.
