EHSQ Specialist

As an EHSQ Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the East Chicago, IN plant meets EHSQ targets, promoting safe and environmentally responsible operations for employees and the community.

• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with Federal, State, Municipal, and Corporate regulations, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and standards.
• Procedure Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, monitor, and manage environmental, health, and safety procedures and programs to continuously improve operations.
• Employee Training and Support: Provide training and support to employees on health, safety, and environmental issues, maintaining detailed training records and analyzing new products, materials, and processes for effective hazard communication and safety procedures.
• Incident Analysis and Response: Coordinate incident analysis, action plan follow-ups to prevent reoccurrence, and maintain document control as per ISO/Corporate requirements using SharePoint.
• Emergency Response and Medical Monitoring: Manage the emergency response program and medical monitoring initiatives in line with corporate guidelines and the plant Integrated Contingency Plan.
• Waste Minimization and Behavioral Safety: Lead the plant's waste minimization and Behavioral Safety Programs, focusing on sustainable options and positive reinforcement.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Environmental, H&S engineering, or similar) and/or equivalent experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Indiana State regulations is beneficial.
• Lab bench work capability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write and review procedures.
• Ability to successfully time-manage in order to prioritize and complete a variety of competing tasks.
• Experience with MS office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and SAP.
