Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Fabricator to join our team at START. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing tools and equipment used in the production of aircraft parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery as needed.
  • Examine Blueprints and Specifications: Carefully examine blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate tooling and equipment production.
  • Use Measuring Equipment: Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment to ensure precise tooling and equipment production.
  • Design and Fabricate Tools: Design and fabricate tools and equipment using a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, and graphite.
  • Operate Shop Equipment: Safely operate a variety of shop equipment, including lathes, bridgeports, and surface grinders.
  • Deburr and Grind Tools: Deburr and grind tools to ensure smooth operation and extend tool life.
  • Track Job Hours: Accurately track hours worked on each job to ensure efficient production and billing.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on tooling and equipment production.
  • Skills: Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T, as well as a strong understanding of general customer requirements and specifications.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work varied shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
