Position Overview:
- The role involves delivering a comprehensive array of physical therapy services, which includes assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions in a collaborative environment, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices. The therapist will also be accountable for contributing to program development, quality enhancement, problem-solving, and productivity improvement within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program is required.
- Current licensure in the state of practice is mandatory.
- BLS Certification is required.
Experience:
- Background in assisting patients with rehabilitation throughout their lifespan is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
2. Conduct initial evaluations, select appropriate assessment tools, and determine suitable adaptive equipment based on the patient's age and developmental stage. Document assessment findings accurately in the medical record as per established protocols.
3. Create personalized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals, specifically addressing functional deficits, and ensure interventions are tailored to the patient's assessment results and developmental level.
4. Assess patient responses to treatment, revising the treatment plan as necessary based on the achievement of goals. Provide updates to patients and families regarding progress and discharge planning throughout the rehabilitation process.
5. Document patient care progress, justifying the need for skilled intervention and communicating recommendations to referring providers. Ensure compliance with documentation policies and procedures.
6. Educate patients and families on tasks and resources that promote continued functional independence, involving family members in the treatment and discharge planning process to ensure a safe transition home.
7. Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education activities, attending departmental and external training sessions as scheduled.
8. Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.
9. Meet established productivity standards while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversee all equipment and responsibilities within the Physical Therapy Department as outlined in the Competency Checklist.
