As a Child Behavioral Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of children in state care. The Essential Role of a Child Behavioral Support Specialist

Child Behavioral Support Specialists are vital in the healthcare sector, particularly in assisting individuals with various mental health issues and developmental disabilities. Your work will be indispensable as you serve as the primary observer, caregiver, and advocate for the children in your care.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing directives from the Department of Human Resources (DHR), acting as the eyes and ears of DHR in monitoring the well-being of our clients.

Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with personal hygiene, maintaining cleanliness in living spaces, and observing and documenting behavior patterns, ensuring timely communication with medical staff.

Additionally, Child Behavioral Support Specialists engage clients in educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities, fostering a safe and effective environment for their growth and development.

Your ability to maintain excellent observation skills, work collaboratively with diverse individuals, and demonstrate qualities such as ethical conduct, thoroughness, and adaptability will be essential in this role.

Flexibility and Commitment

Therefore, this position may require flexibility in your work schedule, including the possibility of night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Requirements for Success

To be considered for this impactful position, you must have at least one year of related experience in caregiving or an educational setting, such as hospitals, schools, daycares, special education, or autism care.

Certification or eligibility for certification in crisis management and CPR/First Aid within the first 30 days of employment is required. CDI certification is also necessary for this role.
