MECA Therapies LLC is seeking a highly skilled Developmental Specialist to join their team. This challenging role involves providing special instruction to families with the information, skills, and support to enhance their child's development.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine child eligibility for FIT program services.
- Provide families with the information, skills, and support to enhance their child's development in all areas, including cognitive, communication, physical/motor, social or emotional, and adaptive development.
- Collaborate with families and other personnel to implement planned activities promoting healthy development and skill acquisition.
- Write accurate and timely evaluation reports.
- Seek out relevant information from medical and other resources to implement treatment strategies.
- Utilize time in sessions efficiently to meet objectives.
- Provide accurate and immediate feedback to families.
- Plan for the discharge of individuals served.
- Support individuals in making daily life choices and finding purpose.
- Provide direct support in area of expertise.
- Complete data collection and reporting tools as mandated by MECA Therapies, NM Department of Health, and Local Education Agencies.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective communications within the company.
- Treat all individuals served, employees, and stakeholders with dignity and respect.
- Report Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation incidents according to NM ECECD procedures.
- Comply with NM ECECD rules and regulations, NMAC, and IDEA.
- Participate in the interview process for prospective employees.
- Certificate of Special Instruction through the NM FIT program.
- Completion of an Individualized Professional Development Plan (IPDP).
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows.
- Proficient organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills.
- Ability to train clients, family members, and professionals.
- Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Completion of Family Infant Toddler online trainings.
- Completion of Infant-Toddler Developmental Assessment Certification (IDA).
- Completion of ECO Certification.
Developmental Specialist I Advanced: A two-year Associate level college degree in Early Childhood or related fields, and a professional license, if applicable, in a related field.
Developmental Specialist II: A four-year Bachelor's level degree in Early Childhood or related fields.
Developmental Specialist III: An advanced degree Master's level in Early Childhood or related fields.
