Job Title: ESL Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified ESL Teacher to join our team at Educational Empowerment Group.

Job Summary:

The ESL Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that cater to the needs of English language learners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in computer applications, and have knowledge of web resources and online tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of English language learners
  • Make instructional presentations, conduct discussions, and provide feedback to students
  • Assist in administering and recording assessments and achievements
  • Seek advice and assistance from classroom teachers to make changes to the instructional plan
  • Confer with classroom teachers concerning individual student needs
  • Adjust instruction to meet objectives and individual needs
  • Provide individual students with positive and prompt feedback on their progress
  • Help develop and use language resources to support and supplement instructional activities
  • Renew competence and keep abreast of new knowledge, research, and practice in language instruction
  • Establish positive rapport with students, parents, and school personnel
  • Set high standards for student performance and achievement
  • Work with one-on-one and small groups to remediate diagnosed weaknesses
  • Use computers and other technology to assist students
  • Adapt and enrich the curriculum using multiple strategies and online tools
  • Guide students to develop 21st-century skills
  • Engage and empower learning experiences for all learners
  • Understand, accept, and abide by the Academy's philosophy and mission statement
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning all student information and professional matters
  • Work with staff to improve student learning and achievement
  • Deploy sound classroom management techniques
  • Engage in collaboration with colleagues
  • Attend and/or participate in school activities as directed by the Principal
  • Follow all corporate and Academy policies and procedures
  • Participate in professional development workshops/programs
  • Maintain status of Highly Qualified Teacher
Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree
  • Certification/Licensure in appropriate teaching area
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in computer applications
  • Knowledgeable in use of web resources, online tools, technology tools, etc.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Satisfactory completion of local, state, and federal criminal history check and TB test
