Key Responsibilities- Design Review: Conduct thorough reviews of project deliverables, including drawings, reports, calculations, and specifications, to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Project Management: Represent the City of Chicago as the owner/client-side project manager, administering and overseeing project activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engineering Judgment: Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders, responding to technical questions, RFIs, and providing clarifications or recommendations.
- Contract Oversight: Manage entities contracted to the city in architecture, engineering, and construction, selecting consultants, designers, and professional services, and monitoring contracted activities and deliverables.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or a field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position.
- At least five years of project manager work experience in mechanical engineering, with one year in a supervisory role.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Illinois.
