About the Job

This position is for a Software Development Lead at Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of new features and services within our VPC networking team.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy high-performance embedded systems written in Rust/C/C++. Your expertise in network virtualization and deep understanding of network performance engineering will enable you to shape the future of cloud computing infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams, with a strong background in designing or architecting new and existing systems. They should also have experience partnering with product or program management teams and communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features.

Key responsibilities include leading architecture, design, implementation, support, and evaluation of technology-focused tools and services, providing leadership and innovation in the design and implementation of services to enable new and existing products and services, and effectively hiring, developing, and managing performance for the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Strong systems programming fundamentals
- Experience with large-scale VPC networking
- Deep understanding of network performance engineering
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
