Welder Technician

Job Summary

As a Welder Technician at Martin Marietta, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our aggregate processing equipment. Your primary responsibilities will include preventative maintenance, repair, and fabrication of mobile equipment, as well as monitoring and replacement of ground engaging tools. You will also be responsible for operating mobile equipment as needed and performing various shop or processing duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety, quality, and production to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Conduct MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
• Maximize performance of mobile equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
• Perform fabrication, erection of processing equipment, and repair to processing equipment.
• Complete required paperwork to maintain equipment and to run the plant according to Martin Marietta Materials standards.
• Inspect and ensure maintenance truck is being maintained properly.
• Ensure Preventative Maintenance services, lubrications services are completed according to Maintenance Module.
• Train and coach other employees on maintenance practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Revised Roles/Responsibilities

• Assist plant crew with Manganese changes.
• Replace wear metal liners in cone feed hoppers.
• Replace wear metal liners on cone spider cap assemblies.
• Assist plant crew in repairs of plant equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position.
• One (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance.

Working Conditions

All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.

Salary Information

The base range for this position is $35.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience.
