Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures, communicating with patients, and ensuring the quality of radiographs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams, with attention to detail and patient safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members to ensure accurate and efficient care.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process radiographs, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Assist radiologists, communicate, and consult with them as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records, enter patient information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for the majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
