Cognizant, a leading provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services, seeks a highly skilled AWS Python PySpark Architect to join its dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions using AWS Python and PySpark.

About the Role:

As an AWS Python PySpark Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of cloud-based applications and services, providing technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance solutions using AWS Python and PySpark.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of cloud-based applications and services.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

  • Ensure the architecture aligns with business goals and objectives, providing strategic value to the company.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all architectural designs and implementations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues in the architecture, ensuring robust and reliable solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the architecture.
  • Optimize existing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement security best practices to protect data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a strong background in AWS Python and PySpark with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical concepts.
  • Show a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Have experience in leading and mentoring development teams to achieve project goals.
  • Display a deep understanding of cloud-based architectures and best practices.
  • Be proficient in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work model.
  • Show a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Exhibit a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends.
  • Possess strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Have a commitment to implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance.

Certifications Required:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Python Institute PCEP, Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 – $ 150,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
