Job Opportunity

Volkert Inc is seeking a skilled Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our East Gulf Region group in Alabama.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine engineering tasks, applying basic principles and knowledge to drive project success
  • Conduct traffic operations analysis, traffic signal design, and corridor planning studies to improve transportation systems
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and design projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
  • Support the development of Engineering Interns, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports to communicate project findings and recommendations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 5-10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning, with a strong focus on traffic operations analysis and transportation safety studies
  • Alabama Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory
  • Proficiency in traffic engineering and transportation planning practices, procedures, and software tools, including Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, and Microstation
  • Familiarity with CUBE Voyager and TransCAD is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
