About the Job COMSEC Custodian
The Top Secret Clearance Jobs company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced COMSEC Custodian to join our team in Washington DC, supporting a large Naval COMSEC Account. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cryptographic material management operations, including use of the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).
Job Summary:The COMSEC Custodian will be responsible for the administration and oversight of the local facility COMSEC account, ensuring compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. This includes maintaining up-to-date records, submitting required accounting reports, managing COMSEC accounts, and performing various other duties related to cryptographic material management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The COMSEC Custodian will be responsible for the receipt, transfer, accountability, safeguarding, and destruction activities for all COMSEC material that support multiple Local Elements Accounts.
- The incumbent will forecast, initiate, and track government requests for cryptographic material in support of the command core and ad-hoc program support, ensuring availability access to requested materials.
- The COMSEC Custodian will also be responsible for assisting with shipping CMS material weighing up to 50 pounds, performing firmware upgrades for INE devices listed on the COMSEC account, and performing Field Tamper Recovery (FTR) when necessary.
- The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of the Navy CMS 1 (series) and cryptographic material management operations, including the use of the KMI system.
- The COMSEC Custodian will also be responsible for providing training and COMSEC oversight of personnel at local and remote locations as it relates to COMSEC and CCI policies and procedures outlined in the COMSEC Account user Standard Operations Procedures (SOP).
- The incumbent will oversee all COMSEC-related investigations and comply with security procedures, investigating, preparing, and submitting COMSEC incident reports to multiple cognizant security authorities.
- The COMSEC Custodian will also oversee preparation for all COMSEC inspections, audits, and Staff Assistance Visits.
- The position requires conducting semi-annual physical inventory of all COMSEC material, ensuring continuous NSA requirements.
- The COMSEC Custodian will perform initial and refresher COMSEC and Crypto briefings and provide employee training on processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4 years of relevant COMSEC Custodian experience using KMI system.
- This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
- Able to apply knowledge of government security requirements to ensure program compliance in non-routine situations.
- Completion of the Navy COMSEC Custodian Course.
- Detailed knowledge and demonstrated practical application of the Navy CMS 1 (series).
- Detailed knowledge of cryptographic material management operations, including use of the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).
- Certification/Training COMSEC certifications.
- KMI MGC Operator Training.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security), or must be able to obtain within 6 months.
- Proven ability to work within and across multiple project teams.
- Excellent listening, writing, and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge of Cyber Security, Information Assurance, or Risk Management Framework concepts and applications.
Salary:$94,400 - $141,600
