We are seeking a highly skilled Physician - Emergency Medicine Specialist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our emergency medicine department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of transforming healthcare for the benefit of our communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for patients.
  • Conduct patient examinations, prescribe medications, and provide consultation and medical treatment to correct and/or treat various conditions, illnesses, and injuries.
  • Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families.
  • Provide appropriate consultations, referrals, and follow-up care based on patients' needs.
  • Exercise sound medical judgment in all issues of healthcare.
  • Order studies, tests, and ancillary services as needed.
  • Utilize electronic medical records, including CPOE.
  • Consult with Medical Director, other physicians, or mid-level providers as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by hospital or clinical requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Uphold the standards of professionalism and remain dedicated to clinical excellence, respecting diversity and embodying the Prisma Health Vision and Values.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility:

This role will have direct and/or indirect supervision of team members, including final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility, and disciplinary authority.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited school required.
  • Completion of Residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in area of specialty, licensed to practice in the state of South Carolina.
  • BLS Required.

Work Environment:

This position is located at the Greer Medical Campus and will work variable shifts.
