Machining Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Machining Specialist to join our team at O.A. Newton in Harrington, DE.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints and assembling machinery with precision and attention to detail.

O.A. Newton designs and produces material handling systems using mechanical or pneumatic conveying for movement of bulk materials such as PVC, wood flour, grain, and carbon black, serving the building products and agri-business industries.

• Read and understand blueprints, bills of materials, and job orders to ensure accurate assembly and production.
• Align, fit, and assemble components to achieve proper operating performance and appearance.
• Work with various electromechanical systems, including motors, pulleys, bearings, pumps, blowers, pneumatics, and PLCs.
• Perform rigging of larger components in a safe and controlled manner.
• Test final assemblies to ensure functional requirements are met.
• Monitor inventory of components to maintain efficient production processes.
• Collaborate with engineering to correct problems and make product improvements.

• A minimum of 2 years' experience and/or training in mechanical systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use a wide range of power tools and hand tools effectively.
• High school diploma or GED is required; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
• Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane/forklift and lift up to 100 pounds when necessary.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
