Key Responsibilities

  1. Work collaboratively with the primary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
  2. Order laboratory and radiology tests as needed and refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
  3. Analyze reports, test results, medical records, and examinations to diagnose patient conditions and propose treatment options.
  4. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
  5. Provide advice to patients on lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
  6. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  7. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  8. Record complete, timely, and legible medical records.

Requirements

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  4. Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
  5. Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

  7. Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting.
  8. Experience prescribing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues.
  9. Experience collaborating with specialists to explore patient health conditions and diagnose health issues.
  10. Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences.
