Criminal Justice and Academy Adjunct Professor

Fox Valley Technical College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Criminal Justice Degree program courses and/or Law Enforcement/Jail Recruit Academy topics. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our students by providing high-quality instruction, modeling our core values, and demonstrating commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Criminal Justice Degree program courses and/or Law Enforcement/Jail Recruit Academy topics
- Develop and implement effective instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods
- Assist and advise students with academic matters, including career concerns and course content
- Research and develop skills assessments to evaluate student performance
- Promote student success through timely communication and growth-based feedback
- Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and grading
- Maintain professional currency and contribute to a collaborative culture across the College
- Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested
- Participate in staff development activities, such as diversity awareness and technology training
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
- Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred
- If teaching in our Law Enforcement or Jail Recruit Academies, applicants must have completed the Department of Justice's Instructor Development course or possess the proper certifications from the Department of Justice
- Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction and assessment
- Skilled in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods
- Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery
- Skilled in communications and human relations with diverse populations
- Ability to effectively interact with business and industry to establish partnerships and address needs
- Knowledge of the United States Criminal Justice System and law enforcement, corrections, and associated training methods
- Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour
- Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data
- Adjunct instructors are hired on a per-course basis, with total hours ranging from approximately 3 hours per week to no more than 8 hours per week
- Courses are taught in traditional classrooms and alternative delivery formats
