About the Role
The General Manager is a key leadership position at Office Depot, responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer experience, and leading a high-performing team. As a Sales Leader, you will be accountable for achieving sales results, identifying sales opportunities, and developing overall store strategies to achieve sales results and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of associates to create a customer-centric environment and drive sales growth.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase sales and profitability.
- Manage inventory levels, assets, and expenses within the store.
- Ensure maximum sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives.
- Own associate training and development, talent assessment, and succession planning.
- Provide positive and constructive feedback, and appropriate coaching and counseling.
- Responsible for hiring, merchandising, operations, and execution of store and company standards.
- Manage performance, talent assessment, development, and recognition of all associates.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by observing, listening, interacting, and following up with customers.
- Manage associate conflicts effectively.
- Responsible for increasing sales and profitability.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum two to four years management experience or demonstration of skills and learning through an internal development program.
- Good business acumen and ability to effectively lead, coach, and manage others in a professional environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to positively influence at all levels and possess executive presence.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute detailed instructions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Sound judgment and people management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
