Job Summary

Komatsu is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in a manufacturing environment. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a critical role in the production of heavy equipment, working closely with our team to ensure high-quality products are delivered to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble heavy equipment according to customer specifications, following process design sheets and other written or verbal instructions.
  • Ensure proper torque and tension settings on equipment, using torque wrenches as needed.
  • Inspect incoming parts and outgoing assemblies for defects or damage, reporting any issues to supervision.
  • Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment, cutting and fitting parts, hoses, and tubing as required.
  • Remove small quantities of metal using hand files or portable grinders to produce close fits between parts.
  • Install moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and test for free movement.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Operate overhead cranes or Jib cranes safely to move and set large parts to machine or fixture.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience preferred, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Physical demands include standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude towards customers, employees, and the company.
  • May be required to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
  • Must comply with all environmental, quality, and safety rules, practices, and standards.
