Job Description

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is seeking a skilled Associate Telecommunications Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Public Safety Communications (PSC) division, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and oversight to maintenance technical staff for the installation and maintenance of new systems and solutions to problems with existing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to maintenance technical staff for the installation and maintenance of new systems and solutions to problems with existing systems.
  • Act as the engineering lead person for large system implementations of complex difficulty.
  • Develop technical reports and equipment selection criteria.
  • Provide project cost estimates in part and labor.
  • Notify the supervisor of risks to project budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Provide management and oversight to public safety telecommunications projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in telecommunications engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in-office days may be required based on business needs.
