About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neuro ICU team at Ascension. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, craniotomies, and other complex medical and surgical cases.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, ensuring seamless communication with the healthcare team.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, ensuring timely and effective delivery of care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 6 months of hire date required.
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date required.
  • Registered Nurse licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing or current home state license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based best practices for stroke care and management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
