The role of a Travel Nurse RN involves providing essential nursing care in various healthcare settings. This position is primarily focused on Med Surg nursing, requiring specialized skills and experience.
Certification Requirements- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory.
- Deliver care in a Med Surg RN capacity.
- Handle a variety of common diagnoses, including CHF, Sepsis, CIWA, SOB, and Chest pain.
- No specific educational qualifications are mandated.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience is essential.
- Prior travel nursing experience is advantageous but not a requirement.
- Proficiency in titrating drips, such as Heparin, is necessary.
- Familiarity with CPAP and High Flow equipment, along with troubleshooting skills, is expected.
- Shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a.
- Self-scheduling is not available; however, a blocked schedule may be accommodated based on unit requirements.
- Weekend shifts: Every other weekend or as per unit needs.
- Holiday shifts: As per unit requirements.
- On-call duties are infrequent unless specifically requested or during unit closures.
- Bed Capacity: 20 beds.
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5-6.
- A Charge Nurse is present on each shift and may take patients during nights or occasionally during the day.
- Support staff includes 1 CNA per shift.
- Orientation for unit/department typically consists of 2-3 shifts.
- Floating to ER, OB, and ICU may be required as needed.
- Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs.
- Radius Rule: 50 miles, with no current full-time, part-time, or PRN employment at any facility associated with CommonSpirit.
- Request for Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract); no additional RTO will be approved post-submission.
