Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation (UIC) is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team in Remote Alaska. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising UICN work crews and subcontractors on and off project sites, including camps.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise UICN work crews and subcontractors to completion of contract work and warranty work.
  • Mobilize and demobilize equipment utilizing barging and air freight.
  • Responsible for supervision, direction, and safety of work crews during construction process.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications, read and correct shop drawings, and utilize/maintain project schedule.
  • Adhere to UICC Policies and Procedures, including Shareholder employment opportunities.
  • Maintain worker safety and an accident-free work environment in strict compliance with OSHA rules.
  • Perform Quality Control functions.
  • Work with Project Manager to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environment.
  • Work with Project Manager to review and update project schedule and three weeks look ahead scheduling.
  • Logistics understanding of barging and air cargo efforts, unloading, staging, and storing of material, food, and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with specific project, owners representatives, location of tools and equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 15 years of construction experience.
  • 7-10 years experience in a supervisory role.
  • Worked on remote school projects.
  • Worked on remote construction project experience.
  • Cloud-based construction systems.
  • Microsoft systems.
