Job Title: Stormwater Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Stormwater Engineering Manager to join our team at the City of Monroe. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the City's Stormwater Management Program, coordinating and participating in planning, designing, and construction, and ensuring compliance with applicable ordinances and statutes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, design, construction, and inspection of engineering projects related to stormwater management.
  • Manage and develop environmental policies related to stormwater management.
  • Conduct plan reviews, manage and administer engineering contracts, and prepare and maintain records and files.
  • Manage the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit program and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Supervise stormwater personnel, oversee the recruitment process, discipline, and evaluation of stormwater personnel.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in public works and stormwater management.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina.
  • Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
