Immanuel Lutheran Church is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Part-Time Food Pantry and Backpack Ministry Coordinator.


About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:
• Oversee the daily operations of the food pantry, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Manage food and supply inventory, coordinating volunteer efforts and engaging with community partners.
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, donations, and distributions.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.

Volunteer Coordination:
• Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to assist with receiving and distribution of inventory.
• Provide guidance and support to volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
• Coordinate volunteer efforts to ensure efficient distribution and client service.

Client Services:
• Greet and assist clients, ensuring they feel welcomed and respected.
• Assess clients' needs and provide appropriate resources and referrals to additional services as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the diverse needs of clients.

Community Engagement:
• Develop and maintain relationships with local food banks, community organizations, and donors.
• Coordinate food drives and fundraising efforts to support the pantry's and the backpack ministry's operations.
• Represent the Church at community meetings and events to raise awareness and foster partnerships.

Administrative Duties:
• Prepare reports on activities, including clients served, inventory levels, and volunteer hours.
• Assist with budgeting and financial management of all resources.
• Communicate regularly with church leadership and provide updates on operations.

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in nonprofit, community service, or food pantry operations preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards clients and volunteers.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
