Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Specialist to join our team at Unity Works Staffing & Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair, with a focus on ammonia refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced refrigeration maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Provide maintenance support to ensure operational objectives are met, and direct and oversee the work of contractors as needed.
- Define and set up ideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment, and proactively monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation.
- Pump out/evacuate refrigerant as necessary for component level replacement and/or repair, and perform in-depth troubleshooting of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.
- Perform calibrations and replace components within the refrigeration system, following safe LOTO procedures and in accordance with PSM program.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various types of warehouse equipment, in accordance with OSHA Standards.
- Participate in Maintenance/Refrigeration/Energy Excellence implementation and sustainment of client's Operating System.
- Share knowledge and assist in the training and development of less experienced technicians, and inspect and review in-progress and completed work for compliance and quality control.
- Maintain accurate preventive and predictive maintenance records within the CMMS System, and keep work area and tools well-maintained and organized.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 5 years Industrial Refrigeration maintenance experience, including ammonia refrigeration.
- Completion of RETA Operator 1 & 2 courses preferred, or successful completion of industry-recognized Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration training.
- RETA CIRO certification preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair with differing control systems, and required training in HAZMAT and certification.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System experience preferred, and basic computer skills required.

May be required to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of 20 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
Must be able to work at heights in excess of 35 ft. and be able to access elevated platforms and catwalks, and frequently required to stand; walk; push; pull; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must be able to use hand and power tools.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception, and ability to pass a physical and respiratory exam.
