Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate In-Home Services Worker to join our team in Albemarle County. As a key member of our Family Preservation Services team, you will work closely with families to develop and implement individualized case plans that promote child safety, well-being, and permanency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with families to assess their strengths and needs, and develop and implement case plans that address their unique circumstances.
  • Provide in-home services, including crisis intervention, case management, and support to families in need.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including schools, healthcare providers, and social services agencies, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting families.
  • Conduct home visits, school visits, and other assessments to gather information and provide support to families.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, including building trust and rapport, and providing emotional support and guidance.
  • Document all interactions with families, including case notes, progress reports, and other relevant information.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including case conferences and other meetings, to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting families.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, policies, and procedures, including those related to child welfare, family preservation, and social services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in a human services setting.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including families with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and social services principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a human services field, or a related field.
  • Experience working with families in a human services setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.
