Position Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacist oversees the distribution of medications and specialty pharmacy functions for a diverse patient population at PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy. This role is responsible for establishing and managing safe and effective protocols for specialty pharmacy policies related to patient care and delivering clinical drug information tailored to the needs of patients and their healthcare teams. Additionally, the Pharmacist supervises pharmacy technicians and other support staff on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of prescription drug orders.
  • Engage with prescriber offices for order clarification and coordinate care to achieve optimal therapeutic results.
  • Communicate with patients regarding their prescribed therapies, enhancing compliance and adherence.
  • Facilitate prior authorizations and assist patients in enrolling in financial assistance programs.
  • Verify prescription orders throughout the fulfillment process.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in their daily tasks.
  • Perform clinical pharmacist duties during on-call hours on a rotating schedule; on-call responsibilities may include transporting products as necessary.
  • Participate in additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • 2-4 years of experience in specialty pharmacy.

Work Environment:

This role is conducted in a well-lit mail order distribution pharmacy setting, utilizing pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies regularly.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and operate a computer and barcode scanner. Proper personal protective equipment, including gloves, eye protection, and face masks, must be used when necessary.
