As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting assurance and advisory engagements of Institute-wide and department, lab, center, and institute level processes and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify operational, compliance, financial, safety, and behavioral risks and exposures
  • Evaluate related controls and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Engage in planning and execution, report writing, and assessment of corrective action taken
  • Participate in ongoing risk assessment and provide expert advice to management
  • Develop and implement data analytic opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Five years' experience in a relevant environment
  • Proficiency with internal control concepts (COSO and risk assessment practices) and IIA Standards
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize audit results to identify root cause and formulate value-added recommendations
  • Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently with limited direction/guidance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio
  • Fluency with general ledger reporting packages
  • Discretion and good judgment with confidential data/issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree
  • Certification as a CIA, CPA, or CISA
  • Five years' experience in an integrated audit environment, preferably in an academic/research/nonprofit organization
  • Higher education experience
  • Familiarity with SAP, AuditBoard, and Tableau

Working Conditions

The position requires a hybrid approach, including on-site presence at the Institute's facilities for client and/or team meetings, as well as regular monthly all hands days, professional development, Institute-wide events, and/or other audit initiatives in support of the Institute's mission.

Security Clearance

Successful application for secret clearance by the United States government is required; US citizenship for such application is requisite.
