Objective: In accordance with a medically prescribed rehabilitation protocol, assesses, treats, and instructs patients across various age groups—pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric—who experience disabilities, traumatic injuries, pain, illnesses, or any functional impairments. The goal is to assist them in achieving their highest potential and reintegrating into their community while adapting to their individual capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience: Must have graduated from an accredited institution of physical therapy with a B.S., M.S., or DPT degree.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional communication and analytical skills. A commitment to going above and beyond to fulfill the needs of patients and the department.

Licensure and Certification: Must possess an active New York State License or be eligible with a temporary permit.

Work Environment:

  • Manual Skills: Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Occupational Hazards: Involves considerable occupational risks.
  • Physical Demands: Very heavy physical effort; may require exerting up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Environmental Conditions: Potential exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and other challenging conditions.
